Kirkland College 
One of my favorite Clinton winter memories is leaving my Freshman dorm (Root) to walk the short distance to McEwen and seeing that a light snow had fallen just as dusk arrived. On many days, there wasn’t a large snowfall — just this early evening covering. I always think of it as Clinton’s version of the late afternoon thunderstorms you get in the tropics. Except our snow was quiet, understated, and quite lovely. Just a way to draw a fine line between afternoon and evening. By the time dinner was over, often the snow was too and most traces of it had been erased by our boots.
To those who care about the early learning center that was started by Kirkland in the early 70’s, Hamilton College is contemplating terminating it. There is now a petition to keep it:

Reunion Weekend was terrific. the campus looks quite different with the new Arts Center under construction. It is big and modern looking..so goes the world. But there was a warm feeling among everyone and a huge display of Lost Orchard in the Book Store. Plus Sam’s book Final Engagement. Some kind a détente has taken place.
